Laughing Waters Retreat Center of Hickory Nut Forest

Laughing Waters is a gathering place for social and community events of the Hickory Nut Forest Eco-Community, as well as serving the greater community with joyful celebrations, concerts and various  events.

Our overall guiding principles at Hickory Nut Forest are to live sustainably, share our ideals and healing energy with each other, and use our resources wisely. As examples of this, the community center will be powered with renewable energy from the creek. Our community gardens, herb circle, orchard and vineyard are all organic and just a short walk down the creek.  Our 200 acre nature preserve on Little Bearwallow Mountain, with precious forests and streams, provides a safe home for a wide diversity of native plants and wildlife.

By learning, working and developing relationships with each together we can develop our fullest potential – within ourselves, as part of our community, and for the health of the world around us. By treating each other with clarity, kindness and heart-centered caring, we can open to being in our own perennial joy.
