Commitment. Do You Fear It?

Commitment. Do you fear it? It can certainly feel scary. •

Whether it’s my clients, or in personal relationships, small plans or big projects, the people who get the greatest results are the people who make a commitment.

We tend to have it have backward you know? We tend to commit only if there is absolute assurance something good will come out of it.  There isn’t.

In reality, it’s only when we commit with all of our body, mind, heart, and spirit, that something good will absolutely come from it. •

You see the greatest value in commitment is not in the end product.  It’s in the way we grow and evolve every day because of our commitment. .

Through the challenges we face each day in our commitments, we absolutely grow in the cultivation of our character and the evolution of our consciousness. We discover, more clearly, the immense beauty of who we truly are and the world changes because of it.

I like this quote from William Hutchinson Murray. “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which (no one) could have dreamt would have come (their) way. I learned a deep respect for one of Goethe’s couplets: ‘Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!’ •

What are you committed to? •
